This panel will provide a forum to discuss agency in terms of how teachers are empowered to do their job and, in some situations, how they are faced with institutional barriers and hindered in their efforts to teach English to speakers of other languages.

Jim Hays

Teacher, Cal Poly English Language Institute
I'm a full-time teacher with some admin responsibilities. I love talking about ways to achieve a sense of agency as an ESL teacher and how to cope with people and policies that seem to thwart agency.
